{"id":2,"date":"2016-09-09T22:28:41","date_gmt":"2016-09-09T22:28:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thompma.co.uk\/wordpress\/coftea\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2016-10-02T15:32:18","modified_gmt":"2016-10-02T15:32:18","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.thompma.co.uk\/wordpress\/coftea\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi, my names Mark and I love a cuppa! \u00a0Coffee or tea, depending on the mood, but more importantly I love a good independent shop to get it from.<\/p>\n<p>Living in Lincoln we have a few great independents with more popping up.<\/p>\n<p>I started this blog by means of firstly supporting the local family run independent drinking establishments in our city, but secondly as a followup to a couple of ad hock facebook events i created after one of our local shops got blocked in for a week by ill thought out and timed <a href=\"http:\/\/thelincolnite.co.uk\/2016\/08\/lincoln-independent-traders-lose-due-roadworks\/\" target=\"_blank\">roadworks <\/a>outside their shop, with the aim to get a few friends along to support them after a tough week.<\/p>\n<p>I normally pop for a drink and treat after work on a Friday, so i though why not start a regular meet at one of the many independent shops in our city, as a means to support them, meet friends, for different friends to meet each other and explore what great shops we have in our city other than the big chains.<\/p>\n<p>This is by no means a review blog, but offers a chance to maybe encourage others to look further afield where they live and seek out a good cuppa, and spread the word that there is life outside of the corporate machine, coffee is a big money spinner for firms and many sell it as a loss leader, but is often mediocre, but by spending a few pence more and often less! you can get a truely great drink by people that are passionate about what they do.<\/p>\n<p>This love of coffee really took hold when i started my own mobile coffee van in 2004 and the desire to seek out great coffee where i went was born!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll have some links to other blogs and guides too and links to the independents upon my travels.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=thompma30\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi, my names Mark and I love a cuppa! \u00a0Coffee or tea, depending on the mood, but more importantly I love a good independent shop to get it from.
